Canon Pixma iP90v Photo Inkjet Printer (2238B002)
Reviews:

starsGreat travel printer
This printer is to align portable and easy to use. Travel with the groups of doctors to the pæsi in via of development and I have taken it on several travels. The systems very well with the feeding taken ones 240V, cartridges of the ink are small but little expensive and easy to pack. It works very well like "horse of the job" for the greatest plans as the press of the labels of the pharmacy, but I appreciate particularly the ability to complete the plans as it certifys to you printing and the images for gifts. I appreciate therefore a lot that we have bought a second affinchè other squares we use.

starsexcellent compact low-volume printer
I don't print much at home and I don't like having a big bulky printer taking up space. I have owned the older iP90 model for years and it's performed flawlessly. I print VERY little. In 3 years I've only replaced the ink 3 or 4 times. I mostly print webpages (maps directions) and electronic faxes.

If you print quite a bit, you should consider a printer with a flat paper loading area, a bigger sheet feeder, and possibly dedicated paper output space. Paper in the ip90 input slot left for a long time will get a slight curl, and it only holds a small number of blank sheets. I usually leave it empty and put blank sheets in only when I need to print something. This works out perfectly for my light workload, as when I'm not using it, I often store it in a drawer to save desk space and clutter.

starsCan anyone answer a question for me?
This is actually a question, not a review.

Can anyone tell me if i can print wirelessly from my LAPTOP to this printer. I've seen all over the place information about printing from cameras or handheld devices. What i really want is to be able to print from my laptop.

Can anyone help???

starsPerfect printer, great "on the road"
This is a great little printer on the desk and it also travels well, fits into the side pocket of a laptop bag. Highly recommended.

starsPixma compared to my old BJC-85
I bought the Pixma to replace my old BJC-85, when it finally gave the "8 beeps of death" after years of faithful service. This Pixma is a great looking machine and the printouts look good. It might actually rate more than 3 stars, but I haven't had it very long, and it has some mighty big shoes to fill as a replacement for the 85. Make that smaller shoes, because the BJC-85 was a bit smaller, and fit just right into my computer carry case. But the Pixma is sleek and compact, and fits into my carry case with my laptop and both power supplies. Another nice feature the 85 had was an alternate print head that held one large black ink cartridge, instead of small color and black cartridges. If you didn't need color, it provided a longer lasting ink supply. I haven't seen that for the Pixma yet, and I don't know how long the small ink cartridges will last. I bought the BJS-85 from a friend for $100 about 5 or 6 years ago, for a very specific purpose, and it filled the bill perfectly. I guess this is less of a review of the Pixma than a nostalgia piece about my old BJC-85. I don't have a lot of experience with the Pixma yet, but it looks great, and prints cleanly and quickly. It probably prints a lot better than I need. It seems quieter than the 85 too.

starsGreat Versatile Compact Photo Printer
The large printer, has had Canon BJC-80 with the exploration device and he loves it but the new one laptop has not had USB of the doors of more only printing. Therefore I have decided to obtain an other Canon, this time with the blue tooth, that old one I have had infrared so as to it was without threads also. It maintains the products of coming Canon quality!

starsFirst few prints are most excellent
Nice, compact fairly quick color and text prints.
Ink cartridges are small so not sure how long they last. A 2 pack can be purchased for about $22. Again the cartridges are small.
I did a color print in about 2 minutes (full page)
Tray holds up to 10 pages depending on type of paper.

NO USB CABLE INCLUED. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A USB CABLE FOR CONNECTIVITY TO YOU COMPUTER.

All other feature seem to work well, installs easily and seems like a quality printer.

So far so good - but everything in printers seems to be a throw away unless you get into the high dollar ones. I think everyone will enjoy this,; so far I have for the last 3 days and I am [...] about computer products.

starsCanon portable printer does what I wanted
This printer is small and produces the excellent quality. The infrared it is little a meticulous one. The battery is good for one brace of the hours; the price would have to last more long. Therefore while good for facility to travel without to tie as it could be, he is large with tying. They are enough pleased.

starsCanon Pixma iP90v Photo Inkjet Printer
Wanted it for the motor home and for that, it was great. Expense of ink sort of negated by the fact that I never used up the ink in my other printer before it went bad.

starsLove It
My husband wanted this for Christmas. He set it up and printed a great pic. He wants it for when we travel. Very small, great printing.

stars2 criticisms
Printer of the jet of ink of the photo of the Canon Pixma iP90v (2238B002) up to now is happy with turns out you of the printer already (not had it long but used a color cartridge) BUT I HAVE TWO CRITICS 1. The printer has not come supplied with a cable of the USB so as to I could not examine it until that you did not go to a warehouse to but to one. I have not had much time to waste so as to it was a lot challenging and task that is one political crazy in order not to render it compatible to the otten to go 2. I have wished a battery equally but it was not clear to me if the made battery publicity to were compatible poichè could not understand as it has been connected. Een when I have watched specific of the battery it has described like using it. Finally I have found a review that it says that is fixed to the posterior part and uses two screws.I can only indovinare which lives so as to it is still completely not defined affinchè me decided in order to make this purchase without risk. Could have been the pulitore better and fact having shown the connection to one printer?

starsnot as advertised
My printer arrived, minus two critical components: 1) no usb cable--nice if manufacturer told me--I could have at least ordered one right away, and 2) no color ink cartridge. Printer doesn't work without it (obviously). So here I sit. Easier just to go to Best Buy and purchase one than to screw around with Amazon or Canon. I'm very displeased with the unnecessary hassles.

starsFabulous little wizard
That is a product much cold. It is small as great book and it prints the cutting images incredibly a lot fastly. For people on the and that it must print, highly I suggest it. Easy to install, USB.

starsOutstanding Portable Printer
I use my printer with the package of the battery when they are on the road. The transport with mine laptop in a bag of the calculating of the fagotto and always I have it with mine laptop. The printer was easy to ago install and a perfect job of press the text and the diagrams. It makes an excellent job on the color photos, even if the color is not enough good how much my printer 100% of the photo of the gun. The printer is enough fastly and he loads with the hard battery a much time. It seems as I must load it very rarely. They are a lot pleased with the printer and highly I would suggest it for portable use.

starsGreat Little Printer for on the Go....
This is a great little printer. We had the i70 and replaced it with the new iP90v. It's lightwieight, can be easiley transported, for an inkjet the color quality is good and it prints pretty quick too! Would definatley recommend.

starsCool little printer

starsGreat Buy
That is according to Canon Pixma IP90 that I have possessed, my last that is destroyed from a cat and a disposed rischioso lamp of washes and must say that it is one of my favorite things possessing. It works like a champ, it comes with excellent service from Canon and is small, beautiful and sure.

starsLOVE THIS LITTLE PRINTER
THIS IS A GREAT LITTLE PRINTER, I REALLY LOVE IT, IT IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY, BUY IT!!!!!

starsPint-sized Printer Packs a Punch
This printer is great for light volume, high quality printing. What I love most about it is that it can print 8.5" x 11" sheet and it is only the size of a book. It is lighter than a dictionary. It prints fast too.

The ink cartridge is small. The black one lasts 2 to 3 months before we order new ones. We only print on the average 4 pages a week in our household so it has not been a problem for us. We have not needed to change the color ink cartridge yet and it has been about 6 months. And I wish the blue tooth adapter was built in but you have to buy additionally.

I got this printer from another online retailer at great price but it arrived not working. We went to the Canon website and found out our local Canon authorized service. We took it in and they fixed the problem for us within 2 or 3 days free of charge. We are quite pleased with the product and the service.

starsCanon iP90v Portable Printer
I got this printer as a replacement for my HP450 portable printer. The Canon is smaller and operates better than the HP. It prints quickly and feeds properly (a problem with the HP). I've had the printer about a month, and things have gone well so far. Hopefully, I won't have any feed problems!

starsGreat Manual
I purchased the iP90v in the hope of using it at Special Events and Fairs. I needed a photo printer that was relatively light with the added option of being able to print directly from a camera. The iP90v certainly lived up to my expectations when it came to those two options. With a 'Picbridge' compatible device like my Canon 30D I can print pictures directly from the camera without using a heavy laptop computer as the middle man. The iP90v also comes with computer software that let's you print from a computer if you wish to to do so.

I'm not sure if others had the same problem, but downloading this software was extremely difficult and complicated. It took me a few hours just to get it right compared with my other 2 printers which were pretty much plug and play. Luckily this printer came with a very good 'English' only manual that did a very good job of pointing out mistakes. The computer software gives you the options of organizing your photos, and minor editing features such as color balance, red eye removal, brightening or darkening of the picture. There are very few options when printing from 'PicBridge".

This was my main gripe about this printer, because I read that PicBridge does give you the option to edit photos inside the camera, but NOT with this printer ! The printer came with 1 pack of 25 sheet 4X6 paper, but I ordered 3 more packs - 50 4X6, 25 5X7 and 25 8X10 Glossy sheets, because I wanted to see how the printer performed under different conditions. For plain old text this printer is great, very fast and very sharp. You can get an A4 in about 1 minute.

For photos, this printer has a tendency to underexpose(darken) your pictures. My best prints are the ones that were originally over exposed by about 1 stop. I called Canon about this and after the service Rep took 3 minutes to read the manual over the phone, he told me that my best bet would be to over expose my pictures by 1 stop when using this printer. I figure I could live with that since my camera has automatic over/under exposure compensation, but it's still a hassle.

How did the prints come out. I would say I got some very acceptable looking pictures in all three formats 4X6, 5X7 and 8X10 in about 4 minutes. The colors match up well and there was no smudging even when using Glossy paper. I would say that somebody at a Special Event, or at a Fair might find the prints from this printer very acceptable indeed. Whereas someone paying for a professional portrait, or fine art work would not. The minute details are just not there. To be fair, however, I have not tried all the types of papers this printer can handle and which might give me better results than plain old Glossy.

Durability ? The printer is solidly built. I wouldn't call it a Tank, but it does feel pretty solid. I still think that for travel, a padded case or taveling bag would be a very wise purchase. One thing though the paper feeder door latches are made of flimsy plastic and don't look durable at all. I figure they are going to be the first to go.

I haven't used this printer much to say whether I love it or hate it. So far it does a pretty good job of printing Color and B&W prints on the go. You can also print custom made stickers and labels with it. Not bad especially the stickers part.

One thing the manual does not mention is the amount of prints you can get from a single ink cartridge. I called Canon about this and they were pretty evasive about it, rather stating that it depends on the situation. Finally a rep told me that you could get about 185 4X6's on the Black ink catridge. About 400 4X6s with the Color ink cartridge. I found those numbers astronomical since I dont think my much bigger Epson printer can get as many prints from a single cartidge. Maybe the rep though I was talking about Text ? I'll just have to wait and see.

starsCanon on the road
They are hour to my third printer of race of the Canon and still much happy one with they! I was trying an printer without threads and for energy of the battery. Hour I have both, Bluetooth that works perfectly well. They are astonished approximately the longevity of the battery! The quality prints is perfect for my needs... (makes my own image "postcards" that obtain admired from everyone that it transmits to them to)

starsTop notch portable printer
Two soon-free the products from Amazon that withing the last month. In the first place, I have bought a magnetoscope to high definition relatively to low cost of Panasonic HDC-SD1 that was available from Amazon and little others. Great instrument (see again elsewhere). Then, had need of new portable printer and Amazon it was the only place that I could find this machine. Astonishment -- and particularly to astonish to the point of prices. The quality of the escape of color (until 8 x 10) is at least the equivalent of my IP 5000 of Pixma or of the photo R2400 di Epson that is based beside the Canon. For being more exact, I could not see some relative difference in the printed publication images until that it will not put the press under a glass. Naturally, the speed of the iP90v is short of 5000 or 2400. Colors the quality and the density, like measured, fallen to the inside of margin(s) reasonable. Two buys large from Amazon within the last month. TomF
